FishCAST & ACARE Workshop at IAGLR 2024

FishCAST will be hosting a workshop at the annual IAGLR (International Association for Great Lakes Research) Conference in Windsor, Ontario. This year we are co-delivering a workshop,  Curating our Communities: Professional Networking Support in the Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences, in collaboration with the African Centre for Education and Research - African Women in Science delegation. 


The IAGLR Conference and workshop will be hybrid, accommodating both in-person and virtual attendance.

The workshop is scheduled for Wednesday, May 22, 2024 from 8-11 a.m. EST. In-person registration is limited to 30 people on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration for this workshop will close on May 8, 2024.

The tentative schedule is:

8 am: Arrival and free breakfast

8:30 am: Ceremonial welcome & presentations about FishCAST and ACARE

8:45 am: Round 1 Panel on career paths 

9:15 am: Networking session 1

9:45 am: Round 2 Panel featuring FishCAST and ACARE early careers

10:15 am: Networking session 2 with early careers

10:45am: Final reflections and next steps 

Note that there is are fee savings for registration for Black and Indigenous registrants. Please email iaglrAdmin@iaglr.org before registering to receive a discount code.
